for Green Roofs
GREEN ROOF GUIDELINES
We support what is worth developing with high quality products, high expertise and love for the green.
Due to the absence of open-air green spaces and the increasing urbanization, the problems of air pollution and reduced atmospheric humidity are intensifying. Green roofs also known as a grass roofs, or living roofs, contribute to the growth of outdoor green areas with multiple environmental, environmental, energy and economic benefits.
The company "ANAGNOSTOU" constantly develops and evolves its products with the purpose of meeting the requirements of the customer but also contributing to the protection of the environment. Ecological building in recent years has become one of the most important methods for upgrading the environment where we live in and work on.
For this purpose, the company "ANAGNOSTOU" has developed special substrates for green roofs according to the type of the green roof and the plant material. Our green roof substrates are engineered for optimal water retention, drainage, and nutrient availability, supporting plant growth while managing weight and structural concerns. They prioritize porosity and air circulation, resisting compaction and erosion while fostering a diverse soil ecosystem. pH-balanced and composed of sustainable materials, they promote vegetation health and long-term green roof performance.
The whole production process of the Green Roof substrates takes place in our licensed modernized factory in Avlonas, Attica. They are produced, through our mixing-line (sieves, trommel, mixers) for an always even and uniform result.
The substrates for green roofs fulfill the following:
• follow all the recommended Greek (GEOTEE) and International guidelines (FLL Guidelines 2018 - German Landscape Research, Development and Construction Society)
• contribute toward *LEED®* (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) & *SITES™*(Sustainable Sites Initiative) Green Building certification credits
• carry out laboratory analyses by an accredited international or Greek testing laboratory comply with ELOT EN ISO/ICE 17025: 2005 and ESYD criteria
The above-mentioned soil media contain a balanced mix of organic and inorganic materials, which do not originate from prime farmland, unique farmland, or farmland of statewide or local importance or other greenfield sites and doesn't comprise of sphagnum peat moss.
